Grey skies turned to blue on Saturday 26th April for the Meeting of the Waters run, as over 30 machines made the indirect journey from De la Salle Palmerston Rugby Club to Enniskerry, the 6.6km direct route between the start and finish turned instead into approximately 80km of Co. Wicklow's largest and smallest roads. The route sheets were available in both kilometres and miles, and the level of detail on them was excellent. A wide variety of bikes were brought out for the day, with good representation from British, European and Japanese manufacturers. The road works at the entrance to the rugby club did not pose too much of an issue and the downhill and hairpin uphill sections were challenging and enjoyable.
The next run will be the Slievenamon Run from 15-18th May for machines manufactured before 01/01/1931. The closing date for entries has already passed, but even if you don't have an entry, come along and have a look at the field. Further details should be in the next issue of Exhaust Notes, in your hands or Inbox soon...
Our next Club Run will be the ever-popular Meeting of the Waters Run, on 26th April, in a new Saturday format.
We will be gathering in De Le Salle Palmerston Rugby Club Kilternan. This is for club members, and all club machines pre-2000 are eligible.
The Route will be approximately 120 km around the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains. Entry Forms available on the day. Bring your club membership Card. Visitors can be accommodated, again on pre-2000 machines, at a cost of 10 Euro per rider.
